Working Group 14
Terms of Reference
The following Terms of Reference have been adopted for WELMEC Working Group 14:
- to examine all relevant matters, technological advancements, and opportunities related to digital transformation that will benefit WELMEC;
- to support the digital transformation of European legal metrology processes and services defined by MID/NAWID, and make respective proposals to WELMEC Working Groups, taking into account the main areas of WELMEC activities, and the interests of WELMEC Members and stakeholders;
- to identify potentials and challenges of digitalization applications for the whole regulation system of measuring instruments in a more general sense;
- to make the inherent processes, i.e. of conformity assessment or verification in the field, more effective using modern technologies;
- to focus on the digitalization of processes within WELMEC, e.g. to develop concepts and realizations for e-learning, webinars or develop concepts and realizations for the transition of the WELMEC guides towards “smart standards”;
- to closely cooperate with representatives of international and regional organizations (RMO) in the scientific and quality infrastructure (QI), based on the respective Joint Statement of Intent;
- to aggregate experts from Working Groups of WELMEC which focus on matters associated with digitalization and need to be examined by experts from various Working Groups,
