Albania, officially the Republic of Albania, is a country located in the Balkan Peninsula Southeast Europe. The total area of Albania is 28,748 km². According to the 2023 census, the population of Albania is 2,402,113 inhabitants. The capital is Tirana, also the largest city in the country with a population of 512,127 inhabitants.

Albania is a unitary parliamentary constitutional republic, in which the president is the head of state and the prime minister is the head of government in a multi-party system. Albania has a Constitutional Court, a Supreme Court, which is the highest court of appeals, and numerous appeal and district courts.
