7th WELMEC e.V. Committee Meeting Successfully Held in Brno

The 7th WELMEC e.V. Committee Meeting was successfully held in Brno, Czech Republic, bringing together representatives of WELMEC member states and partner organisations to discuss key developments and future priorities in European legal metrology.

A significant milestone of this year’s meeting was the official acceptance of Ukraine as a new WELMEC member, becoming the 39th member of the organisation. This important step further strengthens cooperation across Europe and reflects WELMEC’s continued commitment to inclusiveness, collaboration, and the harmonisation of legal metrology systems.

The meeting also marked an important leadership transition. It was the final Committee Meeting chaired by Mr. Pavel Klenovsky, who will conclude his mandate as Chair at the beginning of May. From May onwards, the position of Chair will be assumed by Mr. Jan Deconinck (SPF, Belgium).

WELMEC members expressed their sincere gratitude to Mr. Klenovsky for his outstanding dedication, leadership, and valuable contribution to WELMEC and to the field of legal metrology throughout the past six years in the role of Chair. His commitment and guidance have played an important role in advancing cooperation and supporting WELMEC’s strategic development.

During the meeting, members also elected a new Vice-Chair. Congratulations were extended to Ms. Pamela Dagg (NSAI LMS, Ireland) on her appointment.

WELMEC warmly thanks Mr. Klenovsky for his remarkable service and wishes every success to the new leadership team of Mr. Deconinck and Ms. Dagg as they begin this new chapter for the organisation.
