The principal aim of WELMEC is to establish a harmonised and consistent approach to European legal metrology. Currently 37 countries are represented on the WELMEC Committee. WELMEC Committee approved WELMEC strategy document, Procedure for WELMEC activities and Guidelines for Working Groups.
Much of WELMEC's work is done by its Working Groups. These groups produce guidance documents which are available on this website.

- Ms. Nataša Mejak Vukovič and Mr. Tuomo Valkepää paid a visit to IRMM on 30th June 2010. The visit was dedicated to present the newly adopted WELMEC strategy document and to discuss the possible future coopeartion in the field of legal metrology in regard to the implementation of EU legislation.
