Working Group 13: Water and Thermal Energy Meters
Working Group 13 is responsible for support of a harmonised European approach towards legal metrology issues with regard to utility meters of annex III and VI (water meters and thermal energy meters) of the Directive 2014/32/EU (MID), including to establish guidance documents and support for:
- implementation, coherent application and interpretation of the MID
- introduction of new metering techniques under the scope of the MID
- development of proposals for matters in respect to scope and application area of MID
- co-operation with other Working Groups of WELMEC and other relevant organisations
- legal metrology community in respect to water and heat metering
Terms of Reference
The following Terms of Reference have been adopted for WELMEC Working Group 13:
Support of a harmonised European approach towards legal metrology issues with regard to utility meters of Annex III and VI (Water Meters and Thermal Energy Meters) of the Directive 2014/32/EU, in particular:
- Support of the implementation, coherent application and interpretation of Directive 2014/32/EU (MID)
- Support of the introduction of new metering techniques under the scope of the MID
- Development of proposals for matters in respect to scope and application area of MID
- Support of other Working Groups of WELMEC and other organizations in respect to utility meter issues, in particular water meters and thermal energy meters
- Support legal metrology community in respect to water and heat metering
