Working Group 11: Gas and Electricity Meters
Working Group 11 is responsible for a harmonised approach towards legal metrology issues regarding utility meters of Annex IV and V (gas meters, conversion devices and active electrical meters) of the Directive 2014/32/EU, in particular:
- Support of the implementation, coherent application and interpretation of Directive 2014/32/EU (MID)
- Support of the introduction of new metering techniques under the scope of the MID
- Development of proposals for matters in respect to scope and application area of MID
- Support of other Working Groups of WELMEC and other organisations in respect to utility meter issues, (gas meters, conversion devices and active electrical meters)
- Support legal metrology community in respect to gas and electricity metering
The Working Group establishes guidance documents in the above mentioned areas.
Representatives from WELMEC Members, the European Commission, standardisation organisations and industry organisations participate in WG 11.
Terms of Reference
The following Terms of Reference have been adopted for WELMEC Working Group 11:
