26th WELMEC Committee Meeting was held on 6 - 7 May 2010 in Bled, Slovenia. At the meeting 64 participants were present, representing 31 Members and Associate members.

On this occasion the Memorandum of Understanding between WELMEC and the EURAMET has been signed by the EURAMET Chairperson Mr. Leslie Pendrill and WELMEC Chairperson Ms. Nataša Mejak Vukovič.

Metrology Institute of the Republic of Slovenia hosted the meeting of the WELMEC Chairperson's Group in Ljubljana on 8.,9. and 10. March 2010.

On 10. March the Convenors of the WELMEC WGs have joined the meeting.

The main topics of the meeting were:

• Discussion of the topics prepared for the next Committee meeting, 6.-7. May 2010, Bled, Slovenia
• The overview of the work of WGs

EURAMET-WELMEC Seminar was held on 1^st and 2^nd March 2010 in Brussels. The seminar was organised in cooperation with European Commission – Directorate General for Enterprise and Industry, for countries which are part of ENP (European Neighbourhood Policy) and Russia. ENP countries are: Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria, Tunisia and Ukraine.

The main objectives of the seminar were:

• Refreshment of main principles and clarification of basics
• Exchange of national experience
• Analysis of country situation and development of national strategies
• Stimulation of co-operation with other national bodies involved in conformity assessment and acceptance procedures (e.g., customs authorities, accreditation and notified bodies)
• Finding partners for support

Besides the speakers on behalf of EURAMET and the Commission, WELMEC lecturers (Mr. Freistetter, Mr. Klenovsky and Ms. Mejak Vukovič) participated with the presentations on NLF (New Legislative Framework), Services Directive and MID (Measuring Instruments Directive).

The seminar was recognised as useful tool for identifying the main difficulties that ENP countries face in order to find the possible solutions through further assistance where EU Member States can offer technology transfer in metrology (training, equipments, study visits , evaluation of NMIs, inter-laboratory comparison, drafting guidelines).

• Seminar Agenda 

On 12 and 13 November 2009 the meeting of WELMEC strategy group was held at NMO in Teddington. The group has reviewed the draft strategy document which was discussed during last WELMEC Committee meeting in May 2009 and prepared the new version of the document, which has been circulated for comments to Committee Members in order to be adopted at the next WELMEC Committee meeting in May 2010.

28. May 2009, Luxembourg

On May 28 the Memorandum of Understanding between WELMEC and the European Co-operation for Accreditation has been signed.

The final version of MoU was approved by the WELMEC Committee on the 25th WELMEC Committee Meeting where it has been agreed that it would be signed at the General Assembly of EA in Luxembourg on the 28th of May. The MoU was signed by the EA Chairperson Lorenzo Thione and WELMEC Chairperson Nataša Mejak Vukovič.
