GUIDE SUMMARY:
The Directive 76/211/EEC, relating to ‘e’-marked prepackages, requires that Competent Departments carry out checks at the packers’ and importers’ premises. When carrying out these checks the error made in measuring the actual contents of a prepackage shall not exceed one-fifth of the tolerable negative error for the nominal quantity in the prepackage. This guide explains how to estimate the measurement error or uncertainty of measurement to ensure that this requirement is met.
