GUIDE SUMMARY:

This guide is one of those which complete the general guide on the assessment and operation of notified Bodies performing conformity assessment in application of 2014/31/EU directive (hereinafter as the “NAWID”) and 2014/32/EU directive (hereinafter as the “MID”). Several guides have been established for the detailed application of some modules of MID and NAWID. These guides should not be read without taking into consideration all relevant aspects in all the guides related to a module.

The Guide is purely advisory and does not impose any restrictions or additional technical requirements beyond those contained in the MID and NAWID. Alternative approaches may be acceptable, but the guidance provided in this document represents the considered view of WELMEC as to the best practice to be followed. However it is intended that the procedures as described in the guide must be followed if it is to be claimed that the guide has been applied.
